A new entry to the Tasmanian Heritage Register is being proposed drawing together sites at Recherche Bay and Adventure Bay associated with the d'Entrecasteux expeditons to the area in 1792 and 1793.
The entry will combine a number of nominations received since 2003, current entries in the register and the expert evidence provided in the 2007 archaeological report of the area by Dr Jean-Christophe Galipaud.
Community consultation with property owners is underway. The Heritage Council will consider all submissions before reaching its decision on whether to provisionally enter the place in the register.
