Heritage experience

Visit Markree, built in 1926, and see a restored English Arts and Crafts movement home and romantic rustic garden with low stone walls, winding pathways and naturalistic plantings.

Curators will be on hand to answer your questions as you wander through the house and garden. As a special treat for Open Doors visitors, the recently restored period kitchen will be open where visitors can get a glimpse of the innovative changes in kitchen design, cooking equipment and food production that occurred during the early part of the 20th century.

The normal entry fees have been waived for Open Doors patrons.

Markree brings to life the arts, decorative arts and social history of the early 20th century. The home has been restored true to the 1920s period.
